PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP)
It is crucial when choosing a practice that provides PRP treatment that you ensure you are actually getting a PRP treatment. There are many companies and sales teams peddling inferior products and inferior PRP kits, resulting in platelet poor plasma. Sadly, many providers don’t know how to differentiate these kits and don’t know they aren’t actually helping the patients nor treating them with real PRP. Ask what systems are being used, how concentrated is the final platelet injectate (needs to be at least 5x baseline to meet the clinical definition of PRP), and how do they know what they are using is adequate.
